I was wondering this myself.  How do you convert a 2d video into a 3d one?  Or, alternatively, how do you make a 3d video from scratch?

Here’s an option that’s simple and cheap.  Very exciting, I’ll explain it.

Step #1: Go to the TriDef website.
http://www.tridef.com/

Step #2: Purchase the TriDef 3d experience.
It’ll cost you .00.

Step #3: Find or purchase some red-blue anaglyph 3d glasses.

Step #4: Take your video, any video, and play it in anaglyph format with Tridef.

Ta-da!  Your video is now in 3d!

TriDef is one of those conversion systems that analyzes the areas of your video and determines what is in front of what, then uses that data to create two tracks and then convert them into one anaglyph video.  All in real time.  Which is pretty shit impressive, even though it’s not as good calibre as if the video had actually been shot in 3d.

Plus anaglyph format sucks.  So here’s a procedure for going from TriDef’s 2d -> 3d conversion to a nicer format, ColorCode.

ColorCode, incidentally, is the format used in the 2009 Superbowl.  It’s a good format in that it looks nearly like normal video without glasses, but with the ColorCode glasses, it looks 3d – and with no loss of the color spectrum!

So here’s phase 2 of my 3d conversion method:

Step #1: Download the ColorCode 3d software if you want ColorCode 3d instead of crummy red-blue anaglyph.
http://web.mac.com/csvendb/APO/Software.html

Step #2: Get some free ColorCode glasses if you didn’t do so at your local grocery store before the aforementioned Superbowl.  The ColorCode website will send you a few free by mail if you fill out a form.

Step #3: Take your video and display it in TriDef in the parallel screen mode or whatever it’s called, the one where you get two video tracks out of the one you started with, side by side.

Step #4: Use FRAPS or some other screen video recorder app (pick your fave) to record your screen as the video is playing.  Make sure you capture both the left and right video streams.

Step #5: Go into a video editor and crop the two tracks carefully down to the right size.

Step #6: Run them through the ColorCode software or any app that converts two tracks into one 3d track (in any format you prefer)

And then you can enjoy your awesome video in ColorCode 3d or any other 3d format you choose.

Alternatively, you can do all of this in one step, by handing your 2d video to me, and paying me a few dollars, and asking me to convert it to ColorCode for you.  Just a thought.  ;)

For superior calibre 3d than Tridef can generate artificially, you can use some kind of camcorder addon for video that is live-action:
http://www.stereo3d.com/vidrec.htm

And render two separate passes in your 3d app of choice for CG effects shots, from two slightly offset virtual cameras.

For compositing shots, you can either composite apiece shot twice, one for apiece eye, or run it through the Tridef method.  The latter is not ideal, but it’ll seem pretty tempting when the substitute is hours of extra rotoscoping and motion tracking.

Anyway, just thought you might like to know.

Should people be given a second chance to correct something immoral and unlawful that they did in the past?  This is the question that apiece Philadelphia Eagle’s fan is asking these days.  It seems that the city is basically split over the issue with some saying he should never have been given a reinstatement in the NFL in the first place and some others saying that he deserves a second chance.  He paid his dues and did his slammer time so for some people that is enough punishment.  What is going to be key is how Vick tries to make a difference in the treatment of animals.  The ideal thing for him to do is take this as a cause and run with it.  He could turn this negative situation into a positive one if he plays his cards right and stays out of dog fighting and any other illegal activities.

For the time being, it has been reported that Eagles tickets are not selling as fast they were last year at this time so it appears that this Vick controversy is taking a toll on ticket income already.  What should be a concern for the Eagles are the regular season ticket holders in which at least one thousand stated they would not be attending any games this year.  Another bourgeois for fans attending the home games might be public protests from animal rights groups especially if Vick does not take up animal cruelty as a cause.  I truly believe that come regular season time in a few weeks that the Eagles will be healthy to fill the stadium and sell the vast majority if not all of them for apiece game.  This will be especially true if Vick can get some playing time and performs well.  The city of Philadelphia has a very hard fan base and it can be extremely difficult to play there especially if you do not perform like you are supposed to.  On the other hand, if you perform well than the fans will embrace you continuously.

Ultimately it really is going to come down to Vick himself to make the necessary changes in order to lessen any negative feelings that the fans have.  As i mentioned before, Vick needs to jump into animal cruelty as a cause and really work in it trying to make a difference.  As long as he does this and displays a positive attitude doing it than the majority of the fans will start accepting him in Philadelphia.

Lie #1: Time flies. No, time does NOT fly. It crawls. It crawls at an incredibly slow yet inexorable pace. Think back to how long you had to move for that first trike, first bike, first motorbike. Think of how long you are still inactivity for that pony. Remember the discomfort of the interminable move until you could first drive, or drink. How long was it before you were granted to handle your uncle’s fishing knife? Or his hunting rifle? Did you feel like time flew until your acne finally went away? Or until you lost your virginity? Did those college years of essays and problem sets and term papers just fly by? Of course not!

And, though you might have aged, and might in fact be surprised to be writing ‘2010’ on your checks already, don’t try to convince me that time flies! Just spend the hours (or seeming days) from 2 a.m. to dawn chasing telegram channels, and tell me it flies! Sit through a Say of the Union address, AND all the talking-head blather before and after, and tell me it flies! Watch the last ‘two minutes’ of an NFL game, and tell me it flies! Renew your license at the DMV, and tell me it flies! Ask your wife to list the resolutions you really need to work on this year, and tell me it flies!

I rest my case.

Lie #2: Time is money. No, time is NOT money. Time is time, and money is money, and the two have only the most flimsy, fickle and fleeting of relationships. (For one thing, if time was money, I’d actually be earning something from all this endless online writing!) If time was money, your latest automobile fixes wouldn’t have cost 7.00. Instead, after compensating you for the 6.2 hours you wasted sucking down truly horrid coffee and being deafened by braying daytime television in the dealer’s inactivity room, the service manager would have presented you with a bill for just 7.00. If time was money, your kid’s high school principal would owe apiece and each attending parent .50 for that deadly drone on proper test-taking. If time was money, we’d all knock a few hundred off our April check to the IRS for head-breaking time spent on perfidious paperwork. If time was money, I’d be seeking rebates from a whole lot of relatives, distant and otherwise, for a series of thoroughly wasted holidays and birthdays.

See what I mean? Don’t believe it; time is NOT money.

Lie #3. Money is the root of all evil. No, money is NOT the root of all evil. Money is great! (Perhaps one of man’s ideal inventions, in fact!) Money makes things possible! Money makes a juicy portherhouse arrive! Accompanied by a baked potato, a vegetable, a salad, and a cold longneck! Sound like evil to you? I think not. Money also brings fast automobiles and costly women (or, if you prefer, fast women and costly cars). Money brings vacations and plasma televisions and caramel lattés and shawl scarves and sidepipes and motion picture premieres and a cornucopia of food, fast and otherwise. Money even brings lotto tickets, which might bring . . . more money! Money is not the root of all evil — it might in fact be the root of all good (or at least be REAL CLOSE to the root of all good).

It’s the greedy grasping for money that’s the root of all evil! That roofing subcontractor that skated with your deposit — that’s evil! That telemarketer (and his legions of clones) ringing through as the first steaming forkful of your favorite dinner hovers before your open salivating mouth — that’s evil! That cousin of your wife’s with an all new unbelievably convoluted (and unbelievable) tale of money woes like clockwork each six months — that’s evil! That utility company that has to come oil their meters each few months so they’ll spin faster and faster — that’s evil!

So now perhaps you can keep a tiny more truth and honesty in your life.

You’re welcome.

Let me state first of all, and this is by no means an exageration, I am one of the biggest fans of Football Manager games ever and have been with them since the primeval Champ Man days in 1998, and just when I felt that the Football Manager series was stopping its imprvoements, then I hear about the new 3d mode to be added which got me drooling over the game. However once purchasing the game I was a tiny dissapointed as this mode is quite generic and of course the graphics is nothing at all like Fifa or Pro evo. However I can comprehend this is their first attempt, so it is only going to get superior with more time and effort being place into this feature and there is lots of scope to adapt and update this mode. I will list below my favourite new features of this game.

3D Match Engine – Read above, enough said

television View – This adds a nice sense of realism filling up the screen

Assistant manager feedback – In my view this is great however they do give too much information for my liking but awesome for beginerrs.

Press Conferences- Very fun and interactive at first, but after a while become boring and interactive

Realistic Finances – SI have listened to the masses and prefabricated the finance much more realistic for wages, budgets, ticket prices, bonuses and sponsorships

Overall a great game and due to 3d mode should not be missed by any football fan
